I was really feeling like a trip to Baby Gap this morning but I am proud I could resist and get to the grocery story, instead. I tell you, when all my meals are organized for the week, it is so much easier on me. I like to know what everyone is going to eat ahead of time. I just cannot fly by the seat of my pants for meals. I wish I could but it just makes me miserable!
I did all my shopping at Aldi this morning. I have a lot of protein leftover from last week’s shopping trip. This helped cut down on the grocery bill a little, which was nice.
Here is my menu for the week:
I picked up a few new items at Aldi like:
Rosemary and Olive Oil Quinoa
Mini Chocolate Chips – these are the best for pancakes and I make a huge batch and freeze them.
Apple Pie Filling – to make something like these or this.
Coconut Cream Yogurt – I don’t know how long my store is going to have this flavor but it’s my favorite. Someone asked me one day what my favorite type of yogurt was and I answered, “Any yogurt that tastes like CAKE!”
Fruit was on sale this week at Aldi. It is about 40 degrees here in Minnesota and picking up a box of strawberries for $1.99 really makes it feel like Spring. I also got a pint of blueberries ($2.69), mandarin oranges by the bag ($2.49), 4 bananas ($.60) and 2 lb green grapes ($3.99). The kids got out this afternoon after morning preschool and my heart just sings when I watch them play outside. When they came in for lunch their eyes just beamed at the huge heap of strawberries on their plate.
