Hi, I’m MaryBeth! I am a wife and stay-at-home mother to four boys living in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I am a woman who thrives in an active lifestyle. Over the last few years, I have found the one thing that completely fulfills me – running. Running is a constant part of my life.  Whether it’s 5 degrees or 95, raining or snowing – I love to run outdoors, on the trail, on the track, and on the treadmill. I regularly push my kids in a double and single jogging stroller, and consistently run, injury free, from 8-weeks postpartum and finished my first marathon 10-months postpartum. I regularly ran to 32 weeks pregnant with our fourth child. The positive mentality I achieve while running starts to apply to the other areas of my life where I feel less confident. I find myself more content, satisfied, accomplished, and determined.

At the end of 2016, I started training for triathlons. I started swimming and cycling in addition to my running miles and completed four triathlons in 2017. I ride a Specialized Allez Sprint Elite and one of my happy places is cycling up north at my in-laws cabin. I also participate in open water swim club with my dad at Lake Nokomis in the Summer. In the water is where I realize what an amazing place this planet truly is.

I have been extremely blessed to have a loving and supportive husband whom I married in 2008. Together, we have four happy little boys ages 8, 6, 4, and 2 years old. I live in close proximity to my immediate family and have a close relationship with my parents and siblings, grandparents, aunts, and cousins. I also love my out of town in-laws, who, only make it easier to love their son.

As a stay-at-home mom, I am constantly challenging myself to do as much as I can with my kids. Whether it is taking them to the park or engaging them in a craft, it is important my children involve their brains in our day. My kids are a huge factor in my training because I often have them in tow. I like to include them, as much as I can, in the sports I enjoy. You can often find them on their bikes following me as I train for marathons, playing with their dad on the beach while I open water swim, or cheering for their mom on race day and eating all my post-race food.

Thank you for your interest in Trails and Tris and for supporting my journey of growth, upholding my inner truth and finding happiness. I truly believe when we move with the intentions of bettering ourselves and supporting those around us, we can flourish in this life.
